4th of July Weekend

This weekend was packed with a lot of friends, family and fun! We started it off by an impromptu beach/surf session with the Burgess Ohana. Keith has a way of making things sound great for the kids, the wives, as well as for the men. Darin was planning on doing a little bit of tiling this morning, but we dropped it and went to Waiohai instead. We got to surf some fun waves, Levi got to play/eat the sand, and we had a yummy lunch at Koloa Fish Market.

As usual, crawling all around the place and keeping himself busy.

Emma kept dripping water from that cup and Levi was very interested in drinking it.

Oh the wave!

Nothing better than a sleeping baby!

We then met up with some good college friends (Jean and Jeff Kastner) visiting from Oregon. They were actually visiting because Jean's cousin was getting married this weekend. We got to spend some time with them and it was nice catching up!

Happy 4th of July!

Uncle Mike and Aunty Joce also joined us for the Concert in the Sky.

Jean's cousins Maddie and Ellie and Uncle Miles were also visiting from Eugene.
I stayed with them 13 years ago for Thanksgiving, and they were just babies!

We weren't sure how Levi would react to fireworks...

We think he enjoyed it. Mesmerized, I think.

The next morning, we met up with a group of friends, the Kasamotos and Kastners and took a short stroll up in Kilauea. We were hoping for Kilauea Falls, but this place wasn't as spectacular, so for some, it was a let down. It was still fun hanging out and talking story with friends. We also got to eat lunch at Common Ground and that was super yummy!

Hummmmm, I think this grass tastes wonderful!

My cheeks cause my mouth to hang open all the time!

Seth, Dianne and Zoe were visiting from Oahu too! Levi loved Zoe.

Ono's Shaved Ice!

Uncle Jeff looking out for Levi. He had his own cup of ice to throw/eat, but the ice ran out too fast.

Capping the weekend off with another beach day behind the Courtyard Marriott (where Jean and Jeff were staying).

It was lots of fun seeing old friends!
