#lifeoflevi - Month 2

For Labor Day weekend, Darin's family came to visit! Grandpa Kent got to meet Levi for the first time, and was excited to meet his first grandson!

Grandpa Kent actually found a new friend - Tobi and gave him some love. Tobi LOVED the attention since he's not the only "child" after Levi came along!

Great grandma Nitta (O bachan) carried Levi and observed all his grunting. It's so much work to be a baby!

Found some chocolate opihis at the Kauai Chocolate Factory.

Levi's ready for some snacks!

Grannie was great at calming Levi down and singing to him.

Two grandmas finding some quality time with their grandson.

Levi's first trip to the beach (Anini)! We had some chili pepper chicken and picnicked there.

Levi's second trip to Anini, and I got to go in the water to try to catch some Oama! I only caught a few, but we fished for a while, and Levi cruised with daddy, uncle David, grandma and grandpa while Aunty Lynne and I got to fish. Mommy got her Oama fishing in for the season, and the fish were still there in the middle of September!

Levi Koichi's First Month

Daddy had some fun with Levi's many faces.
Levi also came out with a lot of hair, even on his back, shoulders, forehead, and ears!

"Nap when the baby naps" is taken literally by Tobi as well as mommy.

Levi's first meeting with Uncle Jed! He just finished hiking out of Kalalau Valley (22 miles round trip!).

Levi also got to meet his Uncle Royce and Aunty Amy! Aunty Amy carried Levi until he fell asleep :)

Here's Levi's "milk induced coma" face. He turned out to be a good eater!

Daddy taking a nap too!

I turned 30 at the end of August, and we got to celebrate dinner at the Hukilau Lanai. Levi was up for most of the time, but we still got to enjoy dinner with friends!

Levi's one month check up:
Weight: 10 pounds 12 ounces
Height: 22 inches

Happy New Year 2013!

So I have been ignoring this blog for quite some time, and I thought I'd start back up again. Levi is now 5 months old, and 2012 has been "The Year of the Levi" for me. We found out we were expecting in December of 2011, and all I've been doing since is reading up on books/internet about how baby is growing and what he should be doing at that age.

There's a lot to get caught up on, but I'll try to keep it short.

Here is Levi's room after our baby shower in late June. We had a lot to get done before baby arrived, but now I felt I was able to purchase anything that I didn't get from the shower, and fully "nest". Darin was still in his boot (from tearing his Achilles during basketball) so with me being pregnant and him barely being able to walk, we were quite a pair!

Giving Tobi some one on one time before baby arrives!

That's me the morning of our scheduled c-section!

Darin didn't want to cut the umbilical cord, but he was called over, and he did.

Mommy and daddy's first peek at our little one. He kind of has a smile and is sucking his fingers! Yes, I did tear up.

After 3 days in the hospital (it was a great stay and were sad to leave), we said hello to taking care of myself and baby LEVI at home!
