Almost there!

we are almost there!!! whooohooo! they installed the stove and did a thorough cleaning this past week. the driveway and back patio was also poured this past Monday, but we still have no grass and a lot of red dirt. hopefully we can get our yard in soon! we hope to be living in there by mid-late next week :) They just need to do some electrical and plumbing stuff, some touch-up painting, and the final inspection.

Here's a pic of our master bedroom. Darin was a part of all the installation of our electrical stuffs including the fans :)


Our front doors got uncovered. Looks so much different without the cardboard all taped up over it!

The counters got cleaned and the blue plastic taken off.


Our stove and range hood got installed. I was a little worried as to how the finished look was going to be. I had a hard time imagining that finishing crown running all the way across the top was going to look, but i'm pretty happy with it :)

Update

It has been a while since I've update our blog. I think I've been less excited about things, because it is taking a few more weeks than we had expected. It is getting to that point where it is next week, no next week, maybe next week. I just have to keep telling myself that it is just the way things go and we can't do much about it. For example this week we had our driveway and patio concrete scheduled to be poured on Tuesday, but Hurricane Felicia was projected to hit on...Tuesday of course. But yeah there was nothing that we could really do about it and it we ended up pushing it back till next week monday, which is a bummer but I totally agree that it was the right thing to do.

In any case if things go well we could get our final approval at the end of next week, but I would more likely expect it to be the following week. I have more pictures but I'm debating whether I should put them up on the blog or just say that you have to come visit if you want to see it...haha.

Goodbye Old Bessy...

Well, we had to say "Goodbye" to our Old Bessy. It was time to retire our surf van because it stalled one day and found that many things needed to be changed. Darin and I just purchased a 2006 Honda Ridgeline Truck. We are loving it so far!


Our tile guys are working really hard on our master bathroom. Here's a couple shots of what's done so far. They hope to be done and out by Tuesday. This is the one major delay in our house is getting the tile done. We were hoping to be in our home by now, but now we're looking at a couple more weeks before we can be living in it.



Today, after church, Darin and I went over to the house to work on the speakers that are being put in the ceiling. Here is Darin cutting the drywall hole in the ceiling. Darin has been working really hard on the house - from networking, to all our electrical units, our lighting, our audio, lots of moving around all our stuff, etc. He did finally get to jump in the water and go surfing this afternoon :)
