Christmas Break! Finally a new post :)

Happy New Year! On our first day of 2011, one of our pipes blew while washing laundry, and water spilled all over our garage, kitchen, living and dining area. The water got into our extra bedroom as well. Luckily we were able to act fast, turned off the water and electric, and got some dehumidifiers in our house. We still have one fan running to suck the moisture out of the wall attached to the kitchen/garage. Our next steps is to get a dry wall person and painter to fix the damage done to our walls.

The Takemoto's took us out to a belated Christmas dinner the last night we were up in San Jose. Even if Darin and I are not completely related to them (Darin's bro's wife's parents), it's like we are family already!

This is pretty much what we did all break! Eat at all the yummy places we don't have on Kauai :)

Zoey was joining in on what those burgers will do to you if you eat too much of them :)

The line for 5 Guys Burgers! So yummy though! Plus all the toppings you could imagine was free!

Uncle Darin with Zoey!

Golden State Warriors Game!

Dean is a hardcore Golden State fan, but he said, just wait until you see him at the football games!

Northstar - Tahoe! The sun peaking through the trees the morning after Christmas. Eleven inches of fresh snow on the ground - made for fun snowboarding conditions!

It snowed on Christmas night!

White cliffs of Dover were used for navigation back in da day. We were leaving London and headed towards France/Netherlands/Germany/Austria/Italy/Switzerland!

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Red Light District: Notice the lights above the windows are red. This is before it gets pretty creepy over here. Amazingly the oldest church in Amsterdam is right next to all of these "windows".

Anne Frank House was amazing. The father of Anne, Otto Frank, was the one to make sure the house was kept open and maintained for the public. His message was not just for people to visit the house as a sight to see, but to also be aware of the persecution of others because of their race or religion that is still occurring today. I cried when I read some of her journal entries.

Beer tasting at the Heineken Brewery.

"Chips and Mayo" - delish!

Apple Strudel :)

Our ride for the tour that was supposed to start at 8 pm, but the guy called and said there was "traffic" on a Sunday night in the boonies and showed up at 8:45 pm. He was a classic tour guide that probably farmed, did tours and brewed his own schnapps.

Part of the sunset we were late for, due to the "traffic".
