March

This month, Levi started to crawl! He also started to pull up to standing at 7.5 months, and is now walking slowly along furniture. Since he started to crawl, Levi seems to be losing some of his chubbs. He still has those chubby cheeks, but I think that peaked at about 6 months.

Levi all cuddly with mommy - a rare but lovely moment.

Levi is staying up for longer periods of time, and is happier during those times as well!
We've been actually able to hang out with friends on the weekends, but they usually come to our house and we talk story after Levi goes to bed. This time, our friend, Michelle wanted to go out for her birthday. We were able to get my mom and dad to watch Levi, and we went out to Rum Fire. We tried many things on their menu, but everyone loved the pear-Gorgonzola flat bread pizza.

Levi is also growing so fast, I have a hard time keeping up and making sure he is using the proper sized clothing. This month, I sorted out the 6 month clothing to put away into storage, and washed all of his 12 month clothes. He's starting to look more like a little boy with these clothes, rather than a baby!

Can you see Levi's two bottom teeth? They are slowly sprouting up!

Wide stance!

Yeah, mommy, watch out! I'm on the move!

Couldn't resist taking a pic of his little Quiksilver collared shirt!

Now days, anything new that Levi can get his hands on can keep him occupied for some time.
If it's something old, he wants to move on to new things.

Levi is now holding his bottle!

Feburary - Levi makes 7 months

This month, Darin was in Michigan more days in the month of Feburary, and I was home alone with Levi for the first time. I have to admit, I cried when Darin left, but it wasn't all that bad. He was only supposed to be gone for 11 days, but then had to head back for another week after being home for one week. The second trip Darin took, our fridge broke right before he left! So I was left with Levi and no working fridge. Luckily, we have our parents across the street, so we ate there for our meals.

Levi started scooting around the place this month. No crawling yet! He's also starting to eat things with his pincer grasp (puffs cereal and mum mums).

Daddy's team got to the Super Bowl, but he was in Michigan during that time. This was our Ohana group kids playing while the game was going on. Levi was quite a spectacle doing his high screaming. He found his voice this month!

Uncle Royce and Aunty Amy came to visit at the end of February. It was nice to see them again. We haven't seen them since August, when Levi was just a little thing that grunted all the time. They went camping up in Kokee for a few days, and Royce got to show his townie friends his wilderness survival skills.

Yakiniku one night at mom and dad's house. So yummy!

So, when we went to my grandparents house, we looked through some old photos and came across the one on the left of my mom. Similar cheek resemblance? Looks like Levi got a combination of daddy's cheeks as well as the Takayama side.

Levi and mommy were very happy to have daddy back home. So was he!

January 2013 - #lifeoflevi turns 6 months

The month of January seemed to have flown by. Levi started sleeping through the night! Hooray! He also started to roll over both ways. Daddy's football team (The 49ers) are in the playoffs, so we've been cheering for them on Sundays.

Levi was wearing this superhero outfit and daddy kept flying him around the house.

Go 49ers!

Beach day!

December - Levi's 5th Month

This month Levi started solids! He began with rice cereal, bananas, carrots and peas. At first, most of the food ended up all over him rather than in his tummy! We also took some Christmas pictures in front of our very own tree. We had to get a tree this year since it was Levi's first Christmas - even if we were spending Christmas on Maui.

Tummy time again! Stare down!
Poor Tobi....

We decided to head to Maui for Christmas, like we usually do. This time we brought the whole family - Tobi included. They now charge $35 each way to bring a pet as carry on, so Darin said "Merry Christmas Tobi, you're coming with us!" Darin and I got a date night out at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. Grannie and Aunty Traci watched Levi that night, and I think he was pretty fussy! Shucks... we had a nice dinner though!

Great Grandma Nakamura - We had a birthday party for her at Iao Valley
Had to get some guri guri, and I think Levi wanted some!

Levi also got to meet Aunty Lynn and Uncle Garrett and Cade for the first time!
Grannie made her delicious lasagna for our last night there.

Levi's start to opening his presents.

Dig in!

Grandpa Kent

We flew home on Christmas day and Levi was greeted with even more presents to open!
He loves his 49ers hat (I think daddy loves it more)!

Also got to have another feast at Kauai Great Grandma's house!

Darin got me a new camera for Christmas, so we were taking some lessons from our friend (David Leung - davidvictorleung.com) and came upon a buddah... of course we had to do it!

Every year, we have been organizing a Secret Santa gift exchange to do with friends to eliminate the need to buy gifts for everyone. This year we decided to make it a surprise farewell to our friend, Ben Ahn, and built a ninja theme around our party. We also made foods that Ben loves, and everyone dressed up in ninja attire. Ben was truly surprised. He doesn't leave for another month, but we thought this would be a great opportunity since a lot of our friends were together at the same time.

Tobi tried to put on a headband too!

The weather was really nice for the end of the year, so we decided to go to the beach! Levi is almost 5 months and we decided to dip him in the water for the first time. We also let him play in the sand too! Surprisingly, Levi didn't eat any of the sand and he actually thought it was super interesting. He kept playing with it and running it between his fingers. Levi wasn't a huge fan of the water (yet). It was cold and splashed him a little.

Our tree full of Christmas cards and pictures!
